Getting around

There is no Uber here

Uber and DiDi are not authorized in the state of Oaxaca. The apps sometimes show cars on the map; in practice you will not get a ride. Do not plan your arrival around them.

What does exist: taxis de sitio, mototaxis, and colectivos — shared pickups running the coast highway between the town, Zicatela and La Punta for a small fixed fare. Cheap and frequent, but a daytime thing.

From the airport

Puerto Escondido (PXM) is the near one — roughly 15 to 25 minutes by car from here. This is the airport to fly into.
Huatulco (HUX) is the alternative, about 100 km along the coast highway, roughly an hour and a half to an hour and three quarters of driving.
